Josef Schwan GmbH, founded by Josef and Ruth Schwan in 1934, started as a small business selling natural and artificial casings in southern Germany. The company expanded to become a leading wholesaler for butchers in the region when their sons, Peter and Jürgen, joined in the 1950s. In 1978, the sole proprietorship was transformed into a GmbH. Their product offerings include boiling pans, smoke generators, grinding tools, vacuum fillers, minced meat, portioning and sausage cutting equipment, and used machinery.
